Some nice phrases pop up here: "continuous partial attention means continuous partial empathy" is probably my favorite.

A really interesting talk. I have to admit I've not really considered the tribal aspects of social networking, your talk made me think about things in a different way. I particularly love the attention span v empathy idea. And the final few seconds were really superb. Thanks.
